It takes only 30 minutes in a classroom for students to touch up to 300 surfaces, quickly spreading germs via shared resources such as pencil sharpeners, door knobs and keyboards. And once they are there, the germs can live for up to two hours. To help battle the germs that make kids sick teachers often clean and disinfect their own classrooms- often at their own expense.
How can you help? Work with your teacher, parent group, or room parent to help stock classrooms with tissues, liquid soap, hand wipes or sanitizer, germ-killing spray, and paper towels. With an ample supply of such products, teachers won’t have to restrict usage.
To further help prevent the spread of germs in schools TeacherLists.com and Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes are teaming up. Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes will be making a donation of product to 5,000 schools across the country this cough and cold season, as part of its ongoing partnership with TeacherLists.com. Over 200,000 canisters of Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes will be distributed to schools to help keep little hands germ free.
“TeacherLists.com is all about supporting teachers and classrooms, and this generous donation from Wet Ones® Hand Wipes is just another way we’re making that happen,” said Tim Sullivan, founder of TeacherLists.com, part of School Family Media, Inc. “At this time of year, a clean, healthy classroom – and the supplies needed to make it so – is more important than ever. We’re pleased that we’re able to bring this product into our classrooms.”
To be considered for this program, teachers and schools must post their supply lists or wish lists on www.TeacherLists.com by February 8th, 2013.
*To qualify, a school must set up their own TeacherLists.com user account, and use TeacherLists.com to create and publish at least (5) individual teacher lists (teacher wish lists and/or school supply lists) for teachers who are currently employed at the account registrant’s accredited K-12 school. Schools will go through a verification process by School Family Media to confirm all created lists are actual teacher lists for that school. Fraudulent lists will not be counted as an eligible means of entry. Program participants will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries and notified via email. Lists must be posted by 11:59 PM EST on February 8th, 2013.
