Try these instructions to help start your build. What else can you find around the classroom to complete the city?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Toothpicks<\/li>\n<li>Cardboard tubes and paper<\/li>\n<li>Scotch\u00ae Washi Tape<\/li>\n<li>Scotch\u00ae Magic Tape<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Scotch\u00ae Clip &amp; Twist Tape Dispenser<\/li>\n<li>Post-it\u00ae Super Sticky Notes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teacherlists.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/0225-wind-powered-city-step1-body.png\" alt=\"Wind Powered City Step 1\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17799\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Create the base<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To create the base of your windmill, wrap your toilet paper roll with construction paper and tape along the seam.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teacherlists.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/0225-wind-powered-city-step2-body.png\" alt=\"Wind Powered City Step 2\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17800\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Build fan blades<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To create your windmill blades, wrap Post-it\u00ae Super Sticky Notes around the end of a toothpick. Repeat three more times to create four blades total. Cut out a circle of thick paper or cardboard slightly larger than a quarter. Have your teacher help you pick a toothpick through the center of the circle and near the top of the toilet paper roll. Place the four blades on the circle and attach with tape.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teacherlists.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/0225-wind-powered-city-step3-body.png\" alt=\"Wind Powered City Step 3\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17801\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Attach blade<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Attach the circle with blades on it to your windmill with a paper fastener. Blend the two ends of your paper fastener on the inside of the windmill to secure the blades in place.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teacherlists.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/0225-wind-powered-city-step4-body.png\" alt=\"Wind Powered City Step 4\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17802\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Seal with a roof<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To create a roof, cut out a circle of paper approximately 2.5\u201d wide. Find something round in your classroom to trace around. Cut towards the center of the circle to create a small slit half the width of your circle. Place one flap over the other to make a cone shape. Tape the roof together and then attach to the body of your windmill.
