Pages from any magazine can be used to make tons of unique beads.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Materials:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>colorful magazines<\/li>\n<li>bamboo skewer, 1\/8-inch dowel, or soda straw<\/li>\n<li>thick craft glue or standard white glue<\/li>\n<li>yarn<\/li>\n<li>scissors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Instructions:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Select several full pages from the magazine.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Carefully cut each page into long strips about 1 inch wide. (An adult can do this for younger students.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Carefully cut each of these strips diagonally into two long triangles.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teacherlists.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/0121-teacherlists-learning-library-magazine-beads-triangles-body.png\" alt=\"Paper triangles to roll magazine beads\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone wp-image-10942 size-full\" width=\"218\" height=\"400\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Roll the wide end (the base) of one magazine triangle tightly around the skewer two times.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Coat the rest of the triangle with glue.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Continue rolling the triangle around the skewer. A bead should form that is fatter in the middle than on the ends (like a football).<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Slide the bead off the skewer and set aside to dry.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">Repeat steps 4-7 with the other triangles to make more beads.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">When the beads are dry, string them onto yarn to complete your necklace.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Learn more: Fun Facts About Beads<\/h2>\n<p>Beads can be made from just about any type of material.
