Gym shoes should be athletic shoes that fit securely on the child’s foot with laces or Velcro. Loose slip-ons, skateboard shoes, fashion sneakers, sandals or Crocs are not safe. Supportive athletic shoes with cushioning soles protect your child’s feet when active on hard surfaces. The shoes do not need to be new, just clean. These are a must with the hardwood floor in the gym.
